Unique flavors and an inviting atmosphere
We love exploring Charlotte with our kids and we are always looking for fun new family-friendly restaurants to try. We recently heard about the Salty Donut which is a new breakfast spot located on south Tryon street in Charlotte. The business was founded in 2014 and recently opened its first NC location in 2023. Upon arrival, we were immediately welcomed by a large balloon arch and friendly staff members. Unlike many uptown businesses, there was plenty of parking along the street as well as a parking garage for easy access. Another element we noticed was the delicious flavor combinations that aren’t often found in donuts. For example the flavors at our location were white chocolate chai, milk and cookies, almond mocha, strawberry shortcake, and many more! We ordered a box of 6 to share and we went home with extras to enjoy throughout the day.
Easy online ordering – Skip the wait!
The Salty Donut also allows for online pick-up options and walk-ins daily and they are open later hours on weekends until 10pm! Their weekday hours are 7am-7pm which allows for customers with many different schedules to try their delicious food. For online ordering, the order times update each day at midnight for the following business day. The easy website allows for customers choose their preferred pickup time and their fresh order will be ready for them at restaurant pick-up window.
Grab a cozy corner and enjoy food and coffee
The donuts available for order are on display near the register so you can see exactly what you’re ordering. There are table options for larger parties, as well as cozy corner nooks to enjoy coffee and a good book. There is also wifi available if you’d like to grab a donut and get some work done during the day. As expected, the Salty Donut becomes busy during peak hours and we recommend getting there early on weekends to ensure you get the flavors you want. Overall we highly recommend this place for a weekend morning treat with the family!
